IMPORTANT CHANGES TO APPLICATION FORMS FROM 15 OCTOBER 2007

From 15 October 2007 important changes have been made to Australian visa application forms. From 15 October, applicants aged 18 years and over are required to sign an Australian Values Statement when applying for selected visas. The statement requires certain visa applicants to confirm that they will respect the Australian way of life and obey the laws of Australia before being granted a visa. All provisional, permanent and a small number of temporary visa applicants are required to have read (or had explained to them) the Life in Australia booklet before signing the statement. For all other temporary visa applicants the Australian Values Statement is included in the general declarations section of their application form. Copies of the Life in Australia booklet can be obtained from www.immi.gov.au. Updated visa application forms containing the new statement are also available from www.immi.gov.au or at the Australian Visa Application Centre.

Note: Staff from the Visa and Immigration Office of The Australian Embassy, Bangkok will be available to address queries and meet with applicants wishing to lodge Migration Visa Application at the Australian Visa Application Centre (VFS). Any applicant wishing to personally speak with an Immigration Officer about their migration visa application may do so by visiting the Application Centre between 2 PM and 4 PM each working Tuesday and Thursday of the week.
