Q.1 When can I expect to collect my passport back ?

Q.2 How do I know when my passport is ready for collection from the Australian Visa Application Centre ?

Q.3 Can I collect my passport from the Australian Embassy?
Ans No, you will need to contact the Australian Visa Application Centre to collect the passport between 1500 1630 hours.
 
 
Q.4 My application and passport have been submitted and it has been a while, how can I enquire about the status of my application ?

Q.5 Can I send someone else to collect my passport from the Australian Visa Application Centre ?
Ans Yes, you may send your authorised representative to have your passport collected. The person should carry the following documents;
Original receipt issued at the time of lodging application
A Letter of authority signed by you permitting another person to collect your passport from the Australian Visa Application Centre.

Please note: The DIAC Form 956 "Appointment of a migration agent or exempt agent or other authorised recipient" is NOT sufficient for this purpose.

Yes, you may choose to have the passport couriered to your location by paying an additional logistics charge at the time of lodgement.

You should provide a separate "Letter of Authority" permitting the other person to collect your passport on your behalf. The Letter should provide the full name of the person and details of his/her National ID card.

Photo copy of your passport data page which was handed over at the time of lodgement by the Australian Visa Application Centre and
Copy of ID card of the authorised person collecting the passport.
 
 
Q.6 Can I have my passport sent to my home or work address ?

Your applications should include a Cashiers Cheque or Bank Draft made payable to The Australian Embassy Bangkok in Thai Baht. Personal cheques and credit cards will not be accepted. Q.7 Do I have to submit my passport and visa application with the Australian Visa Application Centre only ?
Ans It is preferable to submit the application and passport at the Australian Visa Application Centre. You may choose to lodge your application at the embassy only with prior appointment.
 
 
Q.8 Can I mail my visa application and passport to the Australian Embassy ?
Ans Invitations must be sent direct to the person who is being invited. The person applying for the visa should include the invitation with their documents when they lodge their application. Please do not send (or copy) invitation or sponsorship letters to the visa section.
 
 
Q.9 Can I change my mind and ask for my passport to be returned by courier after I have lodged the application with the Australian Visa Application Centre ?
Ans Yes, you may contact the Australian Visa Application Centre and make the request. You will require to pay the courier charges as applicable.
 
 
Q.10 Can Thai Passport holder apply online visa ?
Ans No, you will need to apply at Australian Visa Application Centre.
 
 
Q.11 Can I submit application through courier service in Bangkok ?
Ans Yes, you may contact the Australian Visa Application Center to make the request.
 
 
Q.12 How do I make payment for visa charge ?
Ans All payments for visa fees have to be made through Demand Draft/Bank Draft .You may choose to purchase Demand Draft at Australian Visa Application Centre at nominal charges. Charges are applicable per cheque purchased. Or you can buy Demand Draft from any Thai Bank drawn in the name of Australian Embassy Bangkok.
 
 
Q.13 Can I apply for working and Holiday visa at Australian Visa Application Centre ?
Ans No, you have to send your application directly to Australia . After receiving the letter, you can submit the same at the Australian Visa Application Centre for evidencing on passport.

PROCESS


Step 1
You or your authorised representative can submit your visa application in person at the Australian Visa Application Centre (AVAC) in Bangkok.

To avoid delays when lodging your visa application you should include the following:
Completed visa application form
Passport
Photocopy of the data page of passport (passport page with photo)
Visa Application Charge (VAC) see: www.immi.gov.au
Supporting documents for your application as advised by the Australian Embassy Bangkok.
VFS Service charge of 600 THB for all visa types and THB 535 (including VAT) for Visa Evidencing per passport is applicable. Additional charges apply for courier services.  Payment through credit cards is not accepted by the Australian Visa Application Centre

Before applying, please ensure you are very clear on your ‘purpose of visit’ – do remember we are here to assist and help you through the entire visa application process but are not permitted to advise or guide you on choosing a visa category. Since our work is primarily administrative in nature, we have no say on whether you will be granted a visa and how much time it will take to process, as this is entirely the prerogative of the Embassy of Australia to decide on

Your passport may be collected from the Australian Visa Application Centre or you may also choose to pay additional charges to have your passport returned to you by courier.
